Rep. John Lawrence, chair of the House Select Committee on Restoring Law and Order, announced the release of a third report by the committee to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. This report continues to focus on Philadelphia's ongoing issues with law and order under District Attorney Larry Krasner.

"This report builds on the previous work of the committee, outlining Philadelphia’s continued deterioration of law and order on Larry Krasner’s watch," stated Rep. Lawrence.

According to publicly available statistics from the District Attorney’s Office website, there has been a notable rise in violent crimes such as murders, carjackings, assaults, and firearm-related offenses in recent years. Rep. Lawrence criticized DA Krasner for his policies, stating that he "places his failed policies above public safety."

"The Third Report outlines DA Krasner’s Orwellian tendency to ignore problematic facts," said Rep. Lawrence, referring to how DA Krasner allegedly shifts blame for failures while maintaining that his prosecutorial policies are effective.

Rep. Lawrence further commented on DA Krasner's relationships with key figures: "As Larry Krasner presides over the most serious crisis of crime in a generation... he regrettably chooses to alienate natural allies including the Attorney General, the Mayor, a series of police commissioners, and even his own staff."

The report also offers recommendations aimed at restoring law and order in Philadelphia but emphasizes that these cannot substitute for effective prosecution by a committed district attorney.

"As Chairman, I have come to the conclusion that Mr. Krasner will not change his ways," concluded Rep. Lawrence. He expressed concern that as long as DA Krasner holds office, Philadelphia will face challenges in maintaining law and order.
