Lincoln University CDP issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.
First place in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Northern Division is on the line when the Lincoln University men's basketball team hosts Virginia Union 2 p.m. Saturday. The two teams are tied atop the standings with the Panthers holding the 97-90 win earlier this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Lincoln has lost 10 of the last 11 meetings against Virginia Union, and trails the overall series, 22-5.

MR. TWO-WAY
Junior Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) leads the team, and is second in the CIAA, averaging 18.7 points per game. He has scored at least 15 points in 20 of the team's 24 games, including 12 times of at least 20 points. Earlier this year, Blue reached 1,000 career points.
He is currently sixth in the conference with 7.4 rebounds and eighth with 2.9 assists.
WINDEX MEN
Lincoln is one of the top rebounding teams in the CIAA, leading the league with 15.0 offensive rebounds and is third with 25.1 defensive rebounds. The 15.0 offensive boards are tied for third nationally.
The Lions are second in rebounding margin, outrebounding their opponents by 6.1 boards per game. Two players - Alex Nunnally (Washington, D.C./Cesar Chavez Parkside) (8th, 7.2 rpg) and Blue (6th, 7.5 rpg) - are ranked in the top 10 of the conference.
SUPER FROSH
Freshman point guard Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) is growing into his role with the Lions. Since being inserted into the starting lineup, Lincoln is 10-3. He leads the team with 73 assists and 37 steals.
In conference action, Hudson is third on the team with 9.6 points with 46 assists, 40 rebounds and 25 steals.
HIGH OCTANE
The Lincoln University men's basketball team is third in the CIAA with 73.7 points per game. The Lions are one of six conference teams with a positive scoring margin, second in the league, outscoring teams by 4.5 points per game.
DEFENSE
The Lions thrives on defense to hold their opponents to 60 points or less. As Lincoln has won 12 of its 15 games, the team has held eights opponents to 60 points or less, and is 7-1 in those contests.
Lincoln is also fourth in defensive field goal percentage, holding teams to just 40.9 percent from the field.
ATTENDANCE
Fans are showing up to Manuel Rivero this season as Lincoln is second in the CIAA in home attendance, averaging 972 fans. It could play a huge role in Lincoln's 7-2 home record this season. The loss to Livingstone last Wednesday, snapped a seven-game winning streak.
