Avon Grove High School issued the following announcement on Jan. 25.
Congratulations to Chris Carlin (Choir), Fiona Buffington (Band), Susan Deering (Orchestra), Sophia Pham (Band), and Alek Pochan (Orchestra) for qualifying for this year's PMEA Region VI Ensemble Festivals.
All five of these students initially qualified for the PMEA District 12 Ensembles, re-auditioned and were among the top musicians in District 12 to move on to the next level.
The Region VI Orchestra Festival will take place at Lower Merion High School on February 25. The Region VI Band Festival will take place at Rusting High School on March 11. The Region VI Choral Festival will take place at Methacton High School. Concerts, which are ticketed for a small fee, are open to the public, depending on seat availability, and occur in the evening. Congratulations again to these AGHS musicians on this achievement!
