Unionville-Chadds Ford School District issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.

Unionville High School announces the appointment of two new assistant principals, Mr. Patrick Clark and Ms. Maggie Hunt. During the September School Board meeting, the Board approved the appointment of Mr. Clark and Ms. Hunt.  They will begin their new administrative roles on October 1, 2021.

Mr. Patrick Clark has been a member of the Unionville High School family since 2008. During his tenure at Unionville High School, Mr. Clark has served as the Dean of Students, Gifted Support Coordinator, and an English teacher. Clark has been an active member of the Unionville-Chadds Ford community with his involvement in numerous district-wide initiatives, specifically the UHS Mascot Selection committee, School Start Time committee, and the Policy 218: Student Code of Conduct revision. Additionally, Clark has been the Varsity football coach since 2004 and his teams have been perennial contenders, winning numerous league and District championships. Clark is a graduate of West Chester University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Education. He received his Masters degree from Widener University and completed his principal certification program at Immaculata University.

Ms. Maggie Hunt has been a member of the Unionville High School family since 2018 where she has served in the capacity of the Unionville High School Gifted Support Coordinator. In her tenure with UHS, Hunt has been a club advisor for the STEM outreach club, as well as helped to institute TEDxUnionvilleHS events. Prior to joining the Unionville High School staff, Hunt was an adjunct instructor at Hardin Simmons University in Texas, an Instructional Coach, and High School English teacher in Texas. She was also the head girls volleyball coach at Wylie High School in Abilene, Texas where she led her team to win a State Championship in 2012. Hunt is a graduate of Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her Masters of Education from Abilene Christian University and is currently a doctoral student at Immaculata University.

The search for two Unionville High School Assistant Principals began with a pool of over 60 applicants that included both strong internal and external candidates. The field was narrowed through an intensive and thorough interview process. Each candidate met with faculty, staff, parents, administrators, and Board members in a series of four interviews. The comprehensive process helped identify who would be the best fit, and in the end, both Clark and Hunt rose to the top.

“After an extensive search, we are so excited to welcome Ms. Hunt and Mr. Clark to their new administrative roles,” stated Dr. James Conley, Unionville High School Principal. “The Unionville High School family will greatly benefit from their expertise and wisdom.”
