West Groove Borough, Pa issued the following announcement on Sept. 15.
Hope everyone is enjoying the refreshing fall air that has moved into the area. East Penn Railroad has been doing track maintenance in the Borough with some pretty wild looking machinery. The operator explained they are measuring the width of the track and identifying areas that are no longer 56.5 inches apart.
Once they do they install tensioning bars to both straighten the track and also bring it into tolerance for the width.
The second machine I believe levels areas where stone has built up around the track.
