Employers in South Chester Today publication area filed 157 H-1B petitions throughout 2024

Employers based in the South Chester Today publication area submitted 157 H-1B petitions during 2024, according to data provided by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-1B Employer Data Hub. Of these, 156 were approved (99.4%), while one was denied (0.6%).

Employers are classified under industries based on their reported operations and may be involved in multiple industries.

The H-1B visa program allows U.S. employers to temporarily hire foreign workers in specialty occupations requiring specialized knowledge and at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Meanwhile, the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services industry was the second largest contributor, filing 43 petitions (27.4% of the total), with an approval rate of 100%.

The South Chester Today publication area employers with the most petitions during 2024 included Constellation Energy Generation, LLC, which filed 27 petitions with an approval rate of 100%, Commonwealth Edison an Exelon Company with 21 petitions and an approval rate of 100%, and Exelon Business Services Company, LLC, which filed 20 petitions with an approval rate of 100%.

Compared to 2023, the South Chester Today publication area saw a 15.1% decrease in the number of H-1B petitions during 2024.
